MEET OUR STAFF
Meet Our Staff
Alice Jenkins is a full time Licensed Optician and Office Manager at the Botetourt location. She holds a certification for the American Board of Opticians, and is also a member of the Optician Association of Virginia. Alice has worked in the optical business since 1975 and joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2000. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, to help them find an updated look and to help improve their vision. Alice sees the importance in building relationships in the community through customer service with a vision.
Amy Clause is a full time Licensed Optician at the Botetourt location. She holds a certification for the American Board of Opticians and is a member of the Optician Association of America, as well as an active member of the Optician Association of Virginia in which she serves on the Board as the Southwest Virginia Regional Director. She has been in the optical business since 2003 and licensed since 2009, joining the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2008. Amy enjoys being an Optician and making a difference in the community’s eyesight. Her favorite aspect of the job is helping young kids see things clearly for the first time. She also enjoys a challenging repair job. Amy is also an American Board of Opticians approved Technical speaker.
Andrea Fenning is a full time Licensed Optician at the Roanoke location, and holds a certification for the American Board of Opticianry. Andrea is also a member of the Optician Association of Virginia. She joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in June of 2010, as a part time employee at the Smith Mountain Lake office. She began working full time in January 2014 at our Roanoke location. Andrea signed up for the apprenticeship program in February of 2015 to study to be become an Optician, and passed the Virginia state boards to become licensed in June 2018.
Diane Arrington is a full time Licensed Optician and office Manager at our Blacksburg location. She has been licensed since 1980 and has worked as an Optician in seven different states. Diane joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2010, with the addition of the Blacksburg location. With many years of optical experience, Diane is happy to be serving the Blacksburg area with excellent eye care.
Jessica Coake is a full time Licensed Optician at our Roanoke location. She is a third generation Licensed Optician and has previous experience as an optometric tech. She holds a certification for the American Board of Opticians and she is a member of the Optician Association of Virginia. Jessica joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2009 as a registered apprentice, and in 2012 she became licensed. Jessica enjoys the hands on lab work as well as interacting with patients. As a high myope glasses and contact wearer herself, she most enjoys helping patients with strong or challenging prescriptions.
Kasie Martin is a full time Apprentice. She mainly helps out at the Botetourt location, but you may see her at any of our locations as she fills in where needed. Kasie joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2011. She is a bit of a science enthusiast and really enjoys the dynamic part of the job, as well as the innovation that occurs with lenses-especially progressive lenses. She enjoys being able to assist the public with their sight, and truly loves the experience of witnessing a child “see” for the first time.
Kerry Bossert is a full time Optician at the 419/Roanoke office. She recently moved to the Roanoke area from Illinois, where she has worked in the optical business since 2007. She joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in August 2017. Kerry appreciates the opportunity to meet new people of all ages, and enjoys helping them choose eyewear that is both functional and fashionable.
Lynn Wilcox is a part time Licensed Optician at our Roanoke location. Lynn has a degree in Opticianry and has over 37 years of optical experience. She joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2003. Lynn has done volunteer work throughout the state of Virginia, as well as overseas missions. She is particularly fascinated by the evolution of the eyewear and delights in tailoring to the individual patients’ needs.
Rita Perini is a part time Apprentice at our Botetourt location. She joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2017, making her our newest addition. Rita started in the optical business in 1988. Over the years, Rita followed her heart and created a fitness career while raising 2 small boys. After which she decided to pursue her love of optics once again. Rita truly feels blessed to be able to once again help the community with their optical needs.
Teri Bradbury is a part time Licensed Optician at our Roanoke location. Teri has been in the optical business since 1987, and licensed since 1990. She joined the Blue Ridge Optical team in 2000. Teri considers herself a people person and enjoys working with the public. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients understand their prescriptions and how their lenses work.
